Description

Parchment Paper 
Acid free, 60 lb weight, natural color. Perfect for calligraphy, fountain pens and quill and ink.  Have been told by past customers that watercolor also works well. Keep in mind that the handlaced refillable books can be filled with any paper of your choice.

Leather
Full Grain: this is a tanned leather surface in its natural state. There is no attempt to hide natural markings such as, scratches, nicks, scars, wrinkles, variations of grain, or brand markings. This creates character and uniqueness in each hide no two are exactly the same.

Leather Weight/Thickness of hide:
  Traditional Full Bound -1 to 2 oz.
  Medieval Rustic - 3 - 5 oz.

  Small - page size is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
          Finished book is approx 9 x 6

  Large - page size is 11 x 8 1/2
          finished book is approx 11 1/2 x 9

Spine Width (finished book):
  250 page book (125 sheets)
  approx. 1 inch thick*

  500 page book (250 sheets)
  approx. 1 3/4 inch thick*

  1000 page book (500 sheets)
  approx. 3 1/2 inch thick*

*approx. because too many variations come into play with a handcraftd item which can change the measurement slightly from book to book. Such as thickness of the hide used, slight change in paper weight from one batch to another, etc.
